Privacy Policy for PromptCam

Last updated: 13 May 2026

PromptCam ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our mobile application ("PromptCam" or the "app").

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — When you sign in with Google, we receive information that Google makes available to the app for sign-in (such as your name, email address, and Google account identifiers), and we create an in-app user account in our systems.
  • Profile information — Information you add or choose in the app, such as username, avatar, bio, social profile links (if you provide them), and category preferences. Some profile fields may be shown to other users as described below.
  • User-generated content — Content you submit for use in the app, such as prompt text, titles, metadata (for example AI tool or category), and images you upload (including photos you choose from your device or capture where the platform allows).
  • App activity data — Information generated as you use PromptCam, such as saves, likes, notifications we generate for your account, reports you submit about content, and messages you send through Contact / support features.
  • Push notification token — A Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token may be stored with your account so we can send push notifications. We may store basic metadata with that token (for example the platform type and a last updated timestamp) to support multi-device delivery and maintenance.
  • Crash and stability data — In production release configurations, we may use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs and limited diagnostic information to diagnose errors and improve stability. We do not use Google Analytics for Firebase in this app.
  • Advertising-related data — When ads are shown, Google AdMob and its partners may collect or process device identifiers (such as the Advertising ID on Android, where available), ad delivery and interaction data, and related technical data as described in Google policies.
  • Local device storage — The app may store certain preferences on your device (for example theme and font settings) using local storage mechanisms such as shared preferences, and may store limited counters related to ad presentation frequency on your device.
  • Network connectivity signals — The app may read local network connectivity status to improve user experience (for example offline indicators).

We do not require precise location for core features. We do not intentionally collect special categories of sensitive personal data through the app.

Android permissions — On Android, the app declares Internet access and, where applicable, the ability to show notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS). We do not request location permissions in the app manifest for these features.

2. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide, operate, and secure the app (including authentication and account management)
  • Display public content and profiles to other users, and personalize parts of the experience (such as feeds and preferences)
  • Deliver notifications (where enabled)
  • Moderate and enforce our rules (including reviewing reports)
  • Diagnose crashes and improve reliability (Crashlytics, when enabled)
  • Show advertisements (Google AdMob), including native, interstitial, and rewarded formats where enabled in the app, and measure ad performance where supported by Google

Ad experiences can vary by platform and app version. For example, certain placements may be enabled only on specific operating systems. Where ads are not initialized or a placement is not used on your device, fewer advertising-related data flows apply.

3. Public vs non-public data

Public / visible to other users (depending on your settings and app features): content you publish for the community (such as prompts and related images), and profile elements intended to be shown publicly (such as username/avatar and similar fields).

Not intended to be shown publicly: items such as your email address, FCM token, internal account identifiers, and similar account/system fields.

Even non-public data may be processed by service providers listed below, strictly as needed to run the app.

4. Firebase and Google Cloud services

We use Google Firebase and related Google services, which may process data on Google’s infrastructure. This commonly includes:

  • Authentication (Google Sign-In / Firebase Authentication)
  • Cloud database (Cloud Firestore)
  • File storage (Firebase Storage) for uploads
  • Cloud Messaging (FCM) for notifications
  • Crashlytics for crash reporting (when enabled)
  • Cloud Functions for certain server-side operations (for example processing actions you take in the app, support requests, content safety workflows, and account deletion)

Google’s handling of data is also described in Google’s privacy documentation: https://policies.google.com/privacy

5. Advertising (Google AdMob) and consent

We use Google AdMob to show ads through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. AdMob and its partners may use identifiers and related data to deliver and measure ads.

Where required or offered for your region, the app may present privacy choices through Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) flows as part of the Mobile Ads SDK (for example consent or personalization controls). Your choices may affect whether personalized ads can be shown.

For more information, see Google policies, including the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Google Mobile Ads / AdMob resources.

6. Other third-party components

The app may use common libraries and services that contact third parties as part of normal operation, for example:

  • Google Fonts (font files may be fetched from Google)
  • Image loading/caching libraries that retrieve images from URLs/CDNs you encounter in the app
  • Opening links in an external browser or another app when you choose to open a profile link or similar URL
  • When you use sharing features, the app may download prompt images over HTTPS to attach them to a share, and may hand off text/images to your device share sheet so other apps you choose can receive that content

Those third parties process information under their own policies once you leave PromptCam or when their SDKs run as designed.

7. Legal bases (EEA / UK / Switzerland users)

If applicable privacy laws require a "legal basis," we rely on bases such as: performance of a contract (providing the app), legitimate interests (security, anti-abuse, product improvement, and advertising where permitted), and consent where required (for example certain advertising processing or notifications, depending on your settings, platform permissions, and applicable law).

8. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including countries where Google or other service providers operate data centers.

9. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information with service providers as needed to operate PromptCam, primarily Google (Firebase / Google Cloud / AdMob / Sign-In-related services). Those providers process data under their terms and privacy policies.

We may also disclose information if required to comply with law, protect users, or enforce our terms.

10. Data retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the app and for legitimate business purposes (for example security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance). Some information may remain in backups for a limited period after deletion.

11. Data security

We take reasonable measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

12. Children’s privacy

PromptCam is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in a way that violates applicable law. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

13. Account deletion

You can delete your account within PromptCam:

  1. Open the app
  2. Go to the Home screen
  3. Open the main menu
  4. Open Settings
  5. Scroll to the bottom
  6. Tap Delete Account and confirm

When your account is deleted, we intend to remove or delete associated profile data and user-generated content as implemented by our deletion process. Some information may be retained for a limited period where required or permitted by law, for security, fraud prevention, or operational backups, consistent with this Policy.

14. Deleting specific content

You may be able to delete certain items you uploaded (such as prompts/images) without deleting your entire account, where the app provides that option. Deleted items may not disappear instantly from all systems due to caching, backups, or legal retention.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by changing the last updated date at the top of this page (and in any hosted version we publish).
